TangoTomo respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, how it is used, and what choices users have.
1. Overview
TangoTomo is a language-learning app designed to help users save, review, and study vocabulary.
TangoTomo does not require users to create an account in order to use the app.
2. Information stored on your device
TangoTomo stores the following information locally on your device so the app can function properly:
- saved words
- readings
- meanings
- saved example sentences
- quiz progress and accuracy data
- reminder settings
This information is stored on the device and is used to provide the app’s core features.
3. Example sentence lookups
When a user chooses to fetch example sentences, TangoTomo sends the search term needed to retrieve matching example sentences from an external source.
At this time, TangoTomo may use Tatoeba to provide example sentences. Use of those example sentences may also be subject to the policies or terms of the third-party service providing them.
4. Purchases
TangoTomo offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock unlimited saving.
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. TangoTomo does not collect or store credit card or payment card details.
TangoTomo uses RevenueCat to help manage purchase status, restore purchases, and confirm premium access across supported app sessions. RevenueCat may process purchase-related information and an app-specific identifier needed to provide these services.
5. Notifications
If a user enables daily reminders, TangoTomo stores the chosen reminder time on the device and uses it to schedule local notifications.
TangoTomo does not require a user account to use reminders.
6. Advertising
TangoTomo does not use third-party advertising in the app.
7. Analytics and tracking
TangoTomo is designed to minimize data collection.
TangoTomo does not use personal data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
8. Third-party services
TangoTomo may rely on third-party services that handle limited information as part of providing app features, including:
- Apple App Store, for purchases
- RevenueCat, for purchase validation and restore support
- Tatoeba or other sentence sources, when users request example sentences
Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
9. Children’s privacy
TangoTomo is a general audience app and is not directed specifically to children under 13.
10. Data deletion
Because most study data is stored locally on the device, users can remove local app data by deleting saved words within the app or by deleting the app from their device.
Purchase records are handled through Apple and purchase status support is handled through Apple and RevenueCat as needed for restore functionality.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
